Bible Verse Valentines

Wow, another idea inspired from Pinterest.  Bible verse valentine, what a great idea for my daughter to give your Sunday School class friends along with her friends from choir and bell choir.   Of course, I had to change it from hand written (I would never be able to get her to write all those out) to being done on the computer.  You can download the template that I made here .

Valentine 2012

Tradition says, we need to make home made valentines for my daughter's school classmates. With the class party on the Friday before Valentine's Day, I needed to get cracken'.   We have made valentines together since Kindergarten. Hmm, but what to do this year?  The inspiration came from Pinterest, where else do my ideas come from these days.  I found the idea for the  friendship bracelets here.  My idea morphed into using scrapbook paper with valentine hearts on the back with the wording printed on  vellum paper.  The original Pinterest pin had a template for the wording, however it was too big for the paper cutter that I had for the scalloped edged circle.  I had to make my own which you can find here . Of course you can simply braid 3 strands of thread together but why take the easy way ?  I searched for a pattern that I liked and found this one here .  Easy enough, then I was on my way.  When I first started, it took me about 1 hr to make a children's size wrist bracelet but by the time I got to the 22nd one, I was whipping them out in about 40 minutes time.  If we ever make these again, I will sure start earlier.  It was a fun project, but a little more time consuming than I had anticipated.  I was thinking about doing these for her neighborhood friends and changing the wording but the jury is still out on that one.  I think I might take the easy way out and make Valentine Smores .  Since Valentine's Day isn't until next Tuesday, I have a couple of days to whip those out !  I'll post pictures of those as I get them done.

Will be going to the class party later today and will let you know how the kids felt about not getting candy with their valentine.

Maggie

Well, it has been since April 22, 2011 and I have just summoned the courage to ask Shelly from Sassy Smudges to create a tribute to our Maggie.  Maggie could try your patience to the last degree.  She took forever to house break, could not be separated from Hershey, our lab we had at the time. She could get herself so worked up when she could not find Hershey. She would run from window to window and door to door looking for Hershey, if she was unable to find her, oh start covering your ears because the howling would start.  She relied on Hershey for so much from cleaning her daily to  softening her rawhide bones for her. She was always up for a wrestle with Hershey in her younger years. Always a game to see who could jockey for the coveted underneath position.  She would then go and sleep for hours until the next match.  One of her biggest thrills was being able to get Hershey's collar off.  She would nudge and nudge until it was off and be quite proud of her accomplishment.  "Maggie Doo" lost her companion in May of 2010.  She would go upstairs and just lay in the crate that they shared for 12 of their years together. I could not bear to wash the bedding for fear she would lose the "Hershey scent".  We feared she would not last long without her Hershey.  We moved to a new home in October of 2011, she did not handle the move well at all.  Multiple times, I remember having a conversation with her regarding if she was done or not with life.  She would bounce back and have a little spunk back in her step.  April of 2011, she did not bounce back and signaled to us she had had enough of this life.  With a sad heart, we took her to the Vet.  Maggie's tribute will now hang proudly next to her companion,  Hershey,  on the wall in our home forever.  Maggie was a one of a kind who is missed but will always be remembered.
